Rick Szymanski is the oldest son of a plasterer and started going to work with his Dad at the age of 6. Rick continued to work weekends and summers through-out JR High and High School becoming skilled at being a Hod carrier and Plasterer.
After High School Rick went to work in his Dads company fulltime. Plastering both the interior and exterior of many custom homes in Rancho Santa Fe ,Delmar, LaJolla and numerous Golf Course Communities in Southern California. 
By his mid-twenties Rick and Kathe relocated to Central Oregon. Starting their own construction company in 1985. It took awhile to build up steady Stucco/Plaster work, but as architects and builders became more familiar with Rick and the Quality Plasterwork he was doing. Stucco/Plaster became more popular in Central Oregon.
By the late 80’s the Szymanski’s had a couple of plastering crews working fulltime, and had gained the reputation as the Premier Plastering Company east of the Cascades.
Throughout the 90’s the Szymanski’s continued to stay very busy doing Custom Residential, small and large Commercial Projects throughout Central Oregon, employing up to 30 plasterers year round.
The Szymanski’s also owned and operated the local Plaster Supply Yard throughout most of the 90‘s, learning another side of the plaster business. 
Earning the respect and loyalty of many architects and builders, by maintaining a high level of workmanship and integrity kept the Szymanski’s almost too busy. 
By the early 2000’s work was slowing down (911/Iraq War) and the Szymanski’s decided to downsize and kept only a small family core to continue working on primarily High End Residential Projects that wanted a “ Hands on” Boss that could help in creating unique Interior and Exterior Features and Finishes.
Creating custom textures, sculptural Plaster and Fine Finishes has become the “norm” for Rick and gives him the most satisfaction in performing the craftsmanship of his trade.In 2015 we have expanded by adding employees to be more competitive in the growing Central Oregon Construction Trade. Doing more commercial work. Maintaining our High quality workmanship is very important to our Family

Celebrating 39 years Plastering in Central Oregon in 2024, Szymanski continues to go above and beyond on each and every project.

Szymanski Company L.L.C. is a family owned and operated business with their daughter Paula Keeney running the office and Son in Law James Keeney in the Field as a working supervisor and Partner.
